Overvoltage protection: When a fault voltage exceeds the protection setting value, a trip command or an overvoltage signal is issued.

Low voltage protection: When the fault voltage is lower than the protection setting value, a trip command or a low voltage signal is issued.

Overvoltage refers to any voltage whose peak value is greater than the corresponding peak value of the maximum steady state voltage under normal operation. In engineering, it refers to all dangerous voltages that can cause damage to equipment.
